Concept Design
The first step is to determine the type and functionality of the furniture, such as chairs, tables, or bookshelves. Designers create an initial concept based on market demand, user preferences, and intended use.
After the concept is approved, detailed designs are created. This includes precise dimensions, materials, colors, and structural details. Computer-aided design (CAD) software is often used to create technical drawings.
Cutting And Processing
Large pieces of wood or board are cut into the required shapes and sizes using saws and other cutting tools.
This includes milling, carving, drilling, and bending to ensure each piece fits the design specifications.
The surfaces of the wood are smoothed using sandpaper or sanding machines to remove rough edges and imperfections.
Assembly
The various parts of the furniture, like the tabletop, legs, drawers, etc., are assembled together. Tools such as screws and adhesives are commonly used.
The assembly is adjusted to ensure the structure is stable, all joints are aligned, and there are no irregularities in the finish.
The surface of the furniture is coated with protective finishes or decorative paints. This enhances the appearance and durability of the furniture.
Some furniture may undergo veneering or laminating for added decoration or protection.
